Artemisia Gentileschi

Artemisia Gentileschi was born on July 8, 1593, in Rome. She was a painter associated with the Baroque genre. Her notable works include history paintings, portraits, and religious paintings. One of her most famous paintings is Judith Slaying Holofernes.

Artemisia was the daughter of Orazio Gentileschi, a painter as well. She followed in her father's footsteps and became a painter, making her occupation her life's work. She passed away on January 1, 1654, in Naples.
