Arthur Penn (born September 27, 1922 in Philadelphia, died September 28, 2010 in Manhattan) was an American film and theater director, producer, screenwriter, and television producer. He held citizenship in the United States and studied at the Black Mountain College.
Penn directed numerous films over his career in various industries such as movie industry, cinematography, and film industry. Some of his notable works include directing "The Chase", "Mickey One", "The Left Handed Gun", "Bonnie and Clyde", "The Miracle Worker", "Target", "Penn & Teller Get Killed", "Lumière and Company", "The Missouri Breaks", "Night Moves", "Four Friends", "Dead of Winter", "Visions of Eight", "Alice's Restaurant", and "Little Big Man".
Arthur Penn was also a father; his child, Matthew Penn, continued in the film industry as a television producer.
