Asha Bhosle

Asha Bhosle, born on September 8, 1933 in Sangli, is an Indian singer, composer, guitarist, and actor. Before India's independence, she held citizenship in the British Raj. She is primarily known for her work as a playback singer, contributing her voice to thousands of songs in various genres such as pop music, world music, bhajan, Indian classical music, filmi, ghazal, qawwali, Hindustani classical music, Indian folk music, and Indian rock.

Bhosle was educated at Balmohan Vidyamandir and is the daughter of Deenanath Mangeshkar. She is the mother of Varsha Bhosle, whom she had as a child. Asha Bhosle is currently based in India.
