Asymmetric Technologies, with our partners at The Ohio State University Advanced Aerospace Laboratory, proposes to develop the Secure and Open UAS Architecture (SOUA) that includes highly capable, modular flight control hardware developed from the ground up with embedded cybersecurity features, as well as an open architecture software solution that allows for the rapid development and assessment of novel vehicle configurations, and for integration of new sensing systems into existing and future UAS assets. This modeling and simulation environment will leverage existing open and closed source tools developed specifically for assessing UAS performance in both software and hardware environments. This development environment will be modular in nature, to allow for specific research efforts to focus on the details of a particular UAS or system, while ensuring the final code will be deployable to hardware capable of meeting the most stringent security and traceability requirements.
