Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer born on February 21, 1969, in San Francisco. Her birth name is Aunjanue L. Ellis and she holds citizenship in the United States. Ellis is best known for her work in films such as "Undercover Brother", "Men of Honor", and "The Help".

Ellis pursued her education at multiple institutions. She attended Tougaloo College, followed by Brown University, and later completed her studies at the Tisch School of the Arts.
