Founded in 2014 by Lea Von Bidder and Pascal Koenig, Ava is a women's health company utilizing big data and artificial intelligence to provide a multi-sensor bracelet to assist women in predicting fertile days. Based in Zurich and San Francisco, the company's initial product also includes an app and a back end with self-learning algorithms for interpretation of hormonal changes, ovulation tracking, and screening of women's health issues.
The company offers the Ava bracelet, which is worn only during sleep and tracks five physiological signals. It uses machine learning algorithms to extract from this data the five most fertile days of the menstrual cycle. Overnight, the Ava sensor bracelet collects data during sleep and during the day, and the wearer can sync the bracelet to the app to see their results.
Ava Fertility also displays health parameters like temperature, sleep, physiological stress, and resting pulse rate. The Cycle Report provides an overview of the user's cycle length, luteal- and follicular-phase length, ovulation, and menstrual flow for the last twelve recorded cycles. It can be downloaded directly from the app for discussion with a healthcare provider. It van also be used track pregnancy.
