Avery Hopwood (born May 28, 1882) was an American playwright and screenwriter. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and held United States citizenship. Hopwood studied at the University of Michigan, where he pursued his passion for writing. Throughout his career, he worked primarily as a playwright and also dabbled in screenwriting.
Avery Hopwood passed away on July 1, 1928, in Juan-les-Pins, France. As a renowned writer of his time, his works continue to be celebrated and remembered today.
