Avetics Global

Avetics Global is a drone solutions company based in Singapore and Malaysia serving Southeast-Asia. The company was co-founded in 2012 by Weiliang Zhang and Joshua Chao. Avetics Global provides end-to-end drone services such as creating and customizing the drones themselves, investigating the data collected by their drones, and conducting classes to teach the theoretical and practical elements of drone creation and operation.

Avetics Global’s inventory consists of drones for both above land and underwater, cameras, aeroscopes, and additional software and hardware. Avetics Global offers many services, including visual inspection, thermal inspection, 2D/3D mapping, confined space inspection, tethered drone exploration, aerial photography and videography, underwater inspection, scan to BIM (building information modeling, a modern digital planning methodology), and building facade inspection. In 2016, the Singapore Government appointed Avetics a master contractor for Unmanned Aircraft Systems services to public agencies.

Avetics is a CAAS (Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore)-approved Unmanned Aircraft Training Organisation (UATO) in Singapore. They offer classes at a range of proficiency levels spanning from beginner to expert aimed at achieving UAPL (Unmanned Aircraft Pilot License) certification. UAPL certification requires the passing of both a UAPL theory test, administered by the CAAS, and a practical assessment, administered by a CAAS-approved UATO. A candidate must then apply for UAPL certification and wait for approval from the CAAS. Avetics also offers classes in subjects such as aerial photography and drone videography. Classes are held in Avetics’ offices and take place only when enough people have signed up.
