Emerick Jean Louis Gerard Alphonse Laporte is a French professional footballer who plays as a central defender for Premier League club Manchester City. After joining Athletic Bilbao in 2010 at the age of 16, he became the second French player - after Bixente Lizarazu - to play for them, made 220 appearances for the club and scored ten goals. In January 2018, he signed a contract with Manchester City. He was part of the team that won the first triple domestic triple match in English men's football in 2019. Laporte has won 51 matches for the French national team at youth level.
