Álvares de Azevedo (born September 12, 1831) was a Brazilian writer, poet, and playwright. He was born in São Paulo and held Brazilian citizenship. Azevedo was educated at the Law School, University of São Paulo, and also attended the University of São Paulo. During his career, he used the pseudonym, Job Stern.
Azevedo is known for works such as "Lira dos Vinte Anos" and "Noite na Taverna". Unfortunately, his life was short-lived as he passed away in Rio de Janeiro on April 25, 1852.
