BandPage is a distributed marketplace for musicians to engage and market to fans across music services across the world. The company was founded in 2009 by James Snider, in San Francisco, California, United States.
The marketplace is utilized by over 500,000 musicians and has interacted with hundreds of million of customers and fans. The marketplace helps musicians to distribute content across stores as well as other online services such as Spotify, iHeartRadio, Shazam, Google, VEVO, Live Nation, Xbox Music, Rhapsody, LyricFind, Rdio, StubHub, and others. BandPage allows musicians to sell things such as merchandise, tickets, VIP tickets, and other things the musician looks to market.
In 2016, YouTube acquired BandPage in order to interact more directly with musicians. After leaving Facebooks platform, BandPage launched a platform that was free to use, but required a 15% transaction fee for anything sold through its ecommerce integrations. The company looked to help musicians build their careers by growing their fan bases and increasing revenue, and joined with YouTube to continue their primary mission.
