Bayer MaterialScience, now known as Covestro, is a venture capital firm in Germany that focuses on coatings and adhesives. Founded 2015 in Leverkusen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, it invests in late stage ventures. Covestro is a Bayer spin off formed in the fall of 2015 and was formerly called Bayer MaterialScience, Bayer's $12.3 billion materials science division. Its portfolio companies include Hydrogenious Technologies, InPhase Technologies, and Allconnect. As of March 2020, Covestro has made four investments. Their most recent investment was on July 31, 2019, when Hydrogenious Technologies raised €17M. Covestro has had one exit, which was Allconnect.
