Beck, born Bek David Campbell on July 8, 1970, is an American singer-songwriter, musician, composer, and record producer. He was born in Los Angeles, California, and holds United States citizenship. He is a child of Bibbe Hansen, a visual artist.
Beck's musical career spans multiple genres, including soul music, low fidelity, indie rock, alternative rock, anti-folk, psychedelic music, alternative hip hop, and lo-fi music. Some of his notable works include "It's All in Your Mind", "Deadweight", "Dark Places", "Devils Haircut", "Think I'm in Love", and "Cellphone's Dead".
In addition to his successful music career, Beck has also ventured into street art and has been awarded MTV Video Music Awards as well as the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. Beck has also been credited as a guitarist and songwriter, and he holds two patents.
