Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) is a public university in Be'er Sheva, HaDarom, Israel. It was founded in 1969 and is accredited by the Ministry of Education of Israel. The university operates in the higher education and university industries. BGU's motto is "Israel's capacity for science and research will be tested in the Negev...".

The university is also known as אוניברסיטת בן גוריון בנגב and is an organization as well as an educational institute. BGU has a history of innovation with two patents assigned. The university has also spawned spinout companies, such as Morphisec.
