Ben Kingsley (born 31 December 1943) is an actor and character actor from the United Kingdom. He was born Krishna Pandit Bhanji in Scarborough. He is the father of Ferdinand Kingsley. Ben Kingsley attended Manchester Grammar School and the University of Salford. He is known for his work in the Shakespearean comedy genre.
During his career, he has appeared in notable films such as Shutter Island, Gandhi, Schindler's List, and Iron Man 3. Some of the numerous awards Ben Kingsley has received throughout his career include the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album, the Primetime Emmy Award, the BAFTA Award and a star on the Walk of Fame.
