Bess Meredyth (born Helen Elizabeth MacGlashen on February 12, 1890, in Buffalo, New York) was an American screenwriter, actor, writer, and film director. She held citizenship in the United States and was a founding member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Meredyth passed away in Los Angeles on July 13, 1969.
Meredyth was the author of the critically acclaimed film, A Woman of Affairs. She had a child named John Meredyth Lucas, who also made a career in the film industry. Bess Meredyth's contributions to the early years of cinema are an important part of the United States' film history.
