Bethany Bongiorno is a businessperson and entrepreneur. She played an integral role with product development at Apple and is the CEO and cofounder of Humane, a technology company.
Bongiorno began her undergraduate education at New York University before transferring to Barnard College, where she majored in physics and minored in mathematics. Bongiorno was a research assistant at The Pennsylvania State University for the LIGO Science Collaboration Research Group. She later conducted astrophysics research at the Museum of Natural History and aided with the publication of several papers before graduating from Barnard College.
Bongiorno began working at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a software project management consultant. After two years, she moved to Apple, where she acted as director of iOS and macOS software engineering program management. Bongiorno is one of the original designers of the iPad and was involved in the releases of various phones, iPads, and Macs. Bongiorno left Apple in 2016 to develop and cofound Humane.
In 2019, Bongiorno cofounded the technology company Humane with Imran Chaudhri, a designer and inventor who also played a pivotal part in the development of Apple products. The company is focused on building technology that improves the human experience. In addition to being a cofounder of Humane, Bongiorno also acts as CEO.
