Blink-182 (reads "blink-ween-it-too", stylized as blink-182) is an American punk rock band formed in 1992 by guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLong, bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus, and drummer Scott Raynor in the northern suburb of San Diego, Poway, California.
The band achieved success in 1999 with the release of Enema of the State, which reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200 charts and went multiplatinum. The band's next album, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001), managed to top the charts in the United States, Canada and Germany. The band's fifth album of the same name (2003) marked a shift in the band's creativity, introducing to the pop-punk sound of the band some experimental elements, not typical for this style.
