Block Party is a venture capital firm founded in 2017 by Dave Dirks, Funs Jacobs, and Gregory van der Wiel. It is headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Block Party was the result of a collaboration between another Dutch-based venture capital firm, Keady, represented in Block Party's founders' team by Dave Dirks.
The firm specializes in connecting celebrities with startups that would benefit from the collaboration. Based on this, many of the Block Party's funding is directed towards companies that are developing tech platforms that acquire advantage from using influencer marketing, such as a platform connecting influencer and brands (Voicey) and a cleantech travel company (Hardt Hyperloop). Block Party prefers to fund companies during the early stage of financing with past investments occurring primarily during pre-seed and seed stages. Additionally, Dirks has made statements that show the firm's interest in providing a revolving fund instead of a one-off investment that are more commonplace in Netherlands. As of October 2019, Block Party has funded five companies and maintains its stakes in all of them.
