Bobby Charlton, born on October 11, 1937, is a former football player and manager from the United Kingdom. He was born in Ashington and is a citizen of both England and the United Kingdom. Charlton, also known by his pseudonym "Bobby", attended Bedlingtonshire Community High School.
Having been a football player, Bobby Charlton won numerous awards, including the Ballon d'Or and the FIFA Club World Cup Golden Ball. He was also a runner-up for the Ballon d'Or, and was recognized as part of the FIFA 100, FIFA World Cup All-Star Team, and IFFHS Legends. Charlton has been honored with prestigious titles such as Officer of the Order of the British Empire, Commander of the Order of the British Empire, and Knight Bachelor.
During his career, Charlton was a member of the Manchester United board of directors, and later on, he transitioned into the role of a football manager. He currently resides in Knutsford and is the father of Suzanne Charlton.
