Brescia Calcio, known simply as Brescia, is the largest football club in the Lombard city of Brescia, where it was founded in 1911. In the 2019-2020 football season, it plays in Serie A. Its showcase features an Anglo-Italian tournament, won in 1994. in the final against Notts County (1-0). The best result in Serie A is the seventh place of the 2000-2001 season, when, led by the 1993 Golden Ball Roberto Baggio, the Lombard team qualified for the Intertoto Cup. In this last competition Brescia reached the final and were defeated by the away goals rule by Paris Saint-Germain after two draws. Previously, in the 1928-29 National Division, the team had finished second, together with Juventus, in Group B, winning 41 points, eight points behind first Bologna.
