During the occupation period, several private meat processing enterprises successfully operated in Brest-nad-Bug. One of them was owned by Ignaty Petkevich, who back in 1930 received permission from the city government to convert part of the residential building into a sausage workshop. In the future, it will become one of the workshops of the Brest Meat Processing Plant.
November 19, 1939 is considered the birthday of the enterprise. It was on this day that an entry about a slaughterhouse in Brest, located along Yagiellonskaya Street, appears in the Journal of Institutions and Enterprises. The enterprise became a part of the system of the meat and dairy industry of Western Belarus and was directly subordinated to the Meat Industry Trust in Bialystok. The first legal address of the enterprise is 135 Moskovskaya Street. The first director in history is Abram Afroimovich Girshin. By the end of 1939, 71 people worked at the Brest Meat Processing Plant.
