Brian Aldiss (born Brian Wilson Aldiss) was a British author, primarily known for his science fiction works. Born on August 18, 1925, in Dereham, United Kingdom, Aldiss passed away on August 19, 2017, in Oxford. During his career, he occasionally used the pseudonym Jael Cracken.
Aldiss attended West Buckland School and Framlingham College for his education. Prior to his writing career, he held various occupations, including being a soldier, editor-in-chief, artist, and screenwriter.
As a novelist and writer, Aldiss was known for his science fiction works. He had four children: Caroline Wendy Aldiss, Charlotte May Aldiss, Timothy Nicholas Aldiss, and Clive Aldiss. Brian Aldiss was the child of Dot Aldiss and Bill Aldiss.
