Budd Schulberg (1914-2009) was an American screenwriter, novelist, journalist, and writer. Born in Manhattan and a citizen of the United States, Schulberg was educated at Los Angeles High School, Deerfield Academy, and Dartmouth College. His father, B. P. Schulberg, was a film and television producer.
Budd Schulberg is best known as the author of "On the Waterfront", a 1954 film that earned him an Academy Award for Best Screenplay. He passed away on August 5, 2009, in Quogue, New York.
