Bunker is a San Francisco-based small business insurance technology (insurtech) company founded in November of 2015 by Chad Nitschke, Steven Giddens, and Dan Feidt, providing businesses with proof of insurance, known as Certificates of Insurance (COI), in real-time through its proprietary Live COI platform. Additionally, Bunker focuses on compliance and ensuring independent contractors and small businesses do not experience gaps in coverage that cause compliance breaches.
Traditionally, COIs are delivered to businesses through PDF files that are downloaded in a static format, meaning any policy changes or updates in coverage would trigger the need for a new PDF. Bunker's propriety Live COI feature allows for traditionally static documents to exist as modifiable documents that update to reflect policy changes in real-time. Additionally, the product enables insurance COI document storage within the Bunker platform, which negates the opportunity for lost or misplaced insurance documentation.
