It is a green cryptocurrency using inexpensive, low-power hard drives instead of high powered processors and graphic cards. The companies website claims that Burst uses 0.0024 kWh per verified transactions. Burst features asset exchange, smart contracts, marketplace, crowdfunding, and an encrypted messaging platform. Transactions on Burst do not require any fees, and the Burst blockchain can handle an unlimited amount of transactions per second according to the companies website.
