Calaxy Inc., is a US company developing the Calaxy app, an open social marketplace for creators. The company was founded in 2020 by basketball player Spencer Dinwiddie and ex-financier Solo Ceesay. The name Calaxy is short for "creator galaxy."
Calaxy aims to provide creators with a suite of features for interacting with their fans. The company is working towards a decentralized social media industry by utilizing Hedera Hashgraph, a blockchain alternative to enable creators to monetize their communities directly through creator tokens. These tokens can be exchanged by fans to access a range of personalized experiences.
The Calaxy App is in private beta with a public beta expected to be released in 2021.
Calaxy app features include video calls, direct messaging, fan votes, exclusive live audio sessions, and content subscription services.
Calaxy will offer "Fan Clubs," which unlock unlimited access to exclusive perks and content from creators, with each creator defining what is included in their Fan Club.

On July 1st, 2021, Calaxy announced $7.5M in funding to accelerate its development and partnerships. The round was raised by Animoca Brands, Red Beard Ventures, ArkStream Capital, NGC Ventures, and Genesis Block Ventures. Angel Investors also contributing included NFL player Ezekiel Elliott, Matt James from “The Bachelor,” NBA coach Luke Walton, former head of blockchain strategy at PayPal Jonathan Padilla, and NFL player Larry Ogunjobi.
