Calipsa is a Londom-based deep-learning technology company. Its stated mission is to make the world a better place by developing technology that can detect and prevent crime.
The video-monitoring platform is cloud-based and can leverage existing hardware on the user's device, making no new hardware required. Users can remotely configure their own network video recorder in order to gain access to Calipsa alerts. The platform stores alarms for 30 days and sends daily, weekly, or monthly performance reports based on the user's preference. Calipsa uses machine learning so that the platform is constantly improving. It is intended that the product reduces false alarms to its customers that may be triggered by noises that are not indicators of crime.
The product works by sending alarms from the user's cameras to Calipsa's cloud servers. Then human motion is looked for in the scene that was sent by the cameras. If the alert is indeed valid, it is sent on to the user and monitoring station operators review the alarms.
Companies that use Calipsa for securty purposes include First County Monitoring, Fedora Security, Diamond Point Security Assured, and CTR Secured Services.
