Campfire, formerly known as Meta View, is a California-based technology company creating solutions for professional collaboration using holographic technology. The company was established in 2018 after it bought the assets of Meta Company, a spatial computing company. The company is not related to social media and technology conglomerate Meta.
Campfire's product uses augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) to develop solutions for enterprise product design. It is intended to be used by professional 3D designers to collaborate on the development of products for their own companies. The product can be used to explain complex concepts in contexts such as design reviews or trainings.
Campfire's product is a combination of software and hardware. The software is the Campfire app that can be accessed by snapping on a piece of hardware to a mobile device. The software has tools, such as a pointer and comment feature, that can be used for explaining a design concept to a virtual audience of professionals.
Other hardware devices offered with the product include a headset for the AR and VR experiences and a console that simulates a 3D monitor for collaboration. The console runs as soon as it is connected to power.
