Carole King, born Carol Joan Klein on February 9, 1942, is an American singer-songwriter, musician, composer, pianist, and actor. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and holds citizenship in the United States. Carole King has made significant contributions to the music industry with her diverse range of genres, including folk rock, soft rock, blue-eyed soul, adult contemporary music, Brill Building genre, pop music, easy listening, and folk music.
King is an alumnus of James Madison High School in Brooklyn and later attended Queens College, City University of New York. She is the mother of musician Louise Goffin.
