Carson McCullers

Carson McCullers (1917-1967) was a multi-talented American writer known for her work as a novelist, playwright, screenwriter, and poet. She was born in Columbus, Georgia, and held citizenship in the United States. McCullers was educated at institutions including Columbus High School in Georgia, Columbia University in New York City, and New York University. Her mother was Marguerite L. Smith.

McCullers is widely recognized for her notable works The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter and The Member of the Wedding. Her literary career spanned various forms of writing, showcasing her vast range as an author. Carson McCullers passed away at the age of 50 in Nyack, New York.
