Cecil B. DeMille, also known by the pseudonym C.B., was an American film director, producer, playwright, screenwriter, theatre director, radio personality, and actor born on August 12, 1881. He was born in Ashfield, Massachusetts as Cecil Blount DeMille, and held United States nationality. DeMille was educated at Widener University and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
DeMille was the father of Richard de Mille and Katherine DeMille and he worked as a prominent film director, directing films such as Old Wives for New and Why Change Your Wife?. He was also the founder of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Cecil B. DeMille passed away on January 21, 1959, in Hollywood.
