The Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (also known as TsAGI) is a Moscow-based State research center that conducts basic studies, applied research, structural design, pilot production and testing for aviation-related study. Science professionals that are conducting the studies include scientists, engineers, and technicians.
The center specializes in researching and advancing aviation. Research has been done on various types of aerodynamics including subsonic, supersonic, power plant, hypersonic, and helicopter dynamics. It is also conducting studies for acoustics and flight dynamics. The center conducts aerospace research as well for vessels such as space crafts. The research and studies are done in TsAGI-created wind tunnels, flight simulators, acoustic chambers, and laboratories.
TsAGI has developed a multitude of air crafts and testing stations. Some examples air crafts that have been designed and built include Irkut MC-21 (a narrow body airliner), MC-21 (a short-haul air craft), and T-50 (a fifth-generation fighter jet).
