Charles II of Naples was born in 1254 in Italy. He was a son of Beatrice of Provence. Charles II held various titles throughout his life, including King of Naples, Count of Provence, Count of Forcalquier, Prince of Achaea, Count of Anjou, Count of Maine, and King of Albania. His occupations included being a monarch, king, count, prince, and politician.
Charles II was the founder of San Domenico Maggiore. He had several children, including Robert, King of Naples; John, Duke of Durazzo; Charles Martel of Anjou; Margaret of Anjou; Louis of Toulouse; Philip I, Prince of Taranto; Blanche of Anjou; Raymond Berengar (Grand Master of the Knights Hospitaller); Maria of Naples; Eleanor of Anjou; and Margaret, Countess of Anjou.
He died on May 5, 1309 in Naples.
