Charles MacArthur (born May 11, 1895) was an American screenwriter, playwright, writer, theatre director, film producer, and film director. Born in Michigan, he held United States citizenship and identified as a U.S. national . MacArthur was the child of Hannibal Hawkins MacArthur and had a son named James MacArthur.
Throughout his career, Charles MacArthur authored works such as "Way for a Sailor". He passed away on April 21, 1956, in New York City.
