Charles Martin Hall was born on December 6, 1863, in Claridon Township, Geauga County, Ohio . He was educated at Oberlin High School in Ohio and later attended Oberlin College. As a chemist, engineer, and inventor, Hall was the founder of Alcoa , a company specializing in aluminum products.
Hall passed away in Daytona Beach, Florida, on December 27, 1914 . Over the course of his career, he was recognized for his contributions to the fields of chemistry and engineering. In 1976, Hall was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
