Charles XII of Sweden was born on June 17, 1682, in Stockholm and died on November 30, 1718, in Halden. Often referred to by his nickname, Alexander of the North, Charles XII was the son of Charles XI of Sweden and Ulrika Eleonora of Denmark. He held Swedish citizenship.
