Chuck Ng is President of the Project PAI Steering Committee. As the President, he drives the development of the Project PAI blockchain/ ecosystem and takes community feedback and recommendations and translates them into actionable progress for the PAI blockchain.
Additionally, Chuck is the founding partner of PreAngel US venture fund and a venture partner at WI Harper, two of the most active US/China cross-border VC funds, and has led investments into 50+ companies in the Blockchain/Fintech, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Robotics and IoT space. He has been instrumental in helping these portfolio companies in their growth and financing strategy. Additionally, Chuck is a founding advisor and partner of International University Innovation Alliance (IUIA), a leading blockchain incubator in China, and an advisor to SK Telecom (largest mobile co. in South Korea), Beijing Government’s Zhongguancun Overseas Advisory Board, Shanghai Government’s Big Data National Lab, King & Wood Academy and a board member of Vimicro (NASDAQ: VIMC) from 2010-2015, a leading Chinese AI/big data company. Previously, he cofounded Eureka Therapeutics and grew it to be a leading oncology therapeutic platform company in cancer immunotherapy. Prior to investing/startups, Chuck worked at PayPal and led its financial strategy and global expansion to Singapore (APAC HQ), China and the creation of PayPal Bank where he won four “MVP” awards and the “PayPalian” Award, the highest award at PayPal.
Aside from his professional work, Chuck dedicates a considerable amount of time in community building/services relating to cross-border collaborations, investments and entrepreneurship. He is Co-founder/ President of the UC Berkeley Greater China Alumni Assoc. BCAIA, which won “UC Berkeley Alumni Club of the Year” and US-China Green Energy Council. He is also Vice President of Tsinghua School of Economics & Management (SEM) for US West Coast where Mark Zuckerberg/Facebook, Elon Musk/Tesla, Tim Cook/Apple, Satya Nadella/Microsoft are board members of SEM. Additionally, Chuck has been an advisor/startup coach/mentor/judge of UC Berkeley AI lab, VIVE Center, SkyDeck Accelerator, Tsinghua/Berkeley Global Technology Entrepreneurship (GTE) Program, Tsinghua Xlab, MIT-CHIEF Business Plan Competition, Carnegie Mellon Univ. (CMU) Summit Business Plan Competition, RocketSpace Accelerator (incubated Uber), Hong Kong International Entrepreneur Festival (HKIEF), Tsinghua University’s Schwarzman College and Shanghai Big Data Alliance. In recognition of his community leadership, Chuck was a recipient of the Bradford King Award for Excellence (given annually to an outstanding Berkeley alumnus in community services and leadership) and recognized by Asia Society as an Asia 21 Young Leader. Chuck is a graduate of UC Berkeley and has dual MBA degrees from Tsinghua University & INSEAD.
