Ciro Ferrara, born on February 11, 1967, in Naples, is an Italian former football player and manager. Ferrara holds Italian citizenship and is best known for his time playing for Napoli, Juventus, and the Italian national team in the 1980s - 2000s.
During his playing career, Ferrara received numerous awards, including 1988–89 UEFA Cup, 1996–97 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, and was named to the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season. Ferrara also won the Italian Cup in 1986/87 and 1994/95 and the Italian Super Cup in 1990, 1995, 1997, 2002, and 2003.
Ciro Ferrara claimed the title of Italian Champion multiple times: 1986/87, 1989/90, 1994/95, 1996/97, 1997/98, 2001/02, 2002/03, and 2004/05 (although the last one was annulled due to the Calciopoli scandal). He was also a Winner of the Intertoto Cup in 1999 and the Gaetano Scirea Prize in 2003.
In addition to his on-field accomplishments, Ferrara was awarded the Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and the Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
