A SBIR Phase II contract was awarded to Citadel Defense in August, 2019 for $748,921.0 USD from the U.S. Department of Defense and United States Air Force.
Commercially available drones are being employed by novice operators, criminals, and terrorists to drop explosive payloads, disrupt communications, and conduct unauthorized overflights creating significant national security challenges that compromise safety. Countering unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to protect personnel, forward operating bases, critical infrastructure, corporate offices, airports, and stadiums are challenges that the military, government, and private commercial industry must address. The objective is to demonstrate the feasibility of networking multiple (2-6 systems) Citadel Defense Titan CUAS systems into a single-user experience to provide military, government, and commercial customers with a disruptive technology that acts as a situational awareness force multiplier.
