Cloudlanes was a cloud data management company that vaulted corporate data in the cloud securely and safely with a "chain of custody." The company's approach was innovative in cloud computing, providing data protection, integration, verification, and optimization while reducing risks and costs and promoting ease in the transformation and transfer of data from on-premises to the cloud and between clouds.
Cloudlanes was acquired by and merged into Druva in July 2019.
Cloudlanes' platform migrated data from on-premise to the cloud and could process data from different sources such as video, tapes, NFS, CIFS, and VTL. The platform was also able to backup, archive, preserve and create file repositories for a variety of mixed and large format data, including city surveillance, movie archives, and hospital records, such as x-rays, scans, and medical records.
Cloudlanes was cofounded in 2015 by Abhijit Dinkar, Vijay Ramaswamy, Asif Moinuddin, Milind Naphade, and Murali Bashyam. The company secured undisclosed funding from Microsoft Ventures and Cervin Ventures, though the company stated it had $5 million in funding. Cloudlanes acquired gold-certified Azure partner SMS, which functioned as a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. In 2018, CloudLanes was recognized in Gartner’s “Cool Vendors in Storage Technologies” report for its innovative technology and by CIO magazine as one of the twenty most promising solutions for the Google Cloud Platform. Cloudlanes was acquired by Druva in July 2019.
