Code Galaxy teaches kids to code through an online format. The company uses a game-based and modularized curriculum delivered through a learning management software. Coding and technology skills are taught to kids and teens in grades two through twelve.
Code Galaxy's online programs include the following:
- Classes once or twice per week
- 1x1 Tutoring/Private classes: Tutoring is available for Python, Scratch, Web Development, Roblox, Minecraft, Graphic Design, Unity Gaming and AP Course Prep. A single session is $60 and there are packages up to sixteen sessions
- Online Camps: Code Galaxy offers live instruction in which students can interact with their instructor—not just an AI- with a set of instructions for them to follow. There are weekly camps for students from ages seven to fourteen and participants get a certificate of completion as well as a completed project
Second to fifth grade students take introduction to Scratch, a drag-and-drop programming platform for creating their own games and animations. They learn fundamental STEM concepts like events, loops, variables, and others. No prior coding experience needed. It lasts for fifteen weeks. Participants also take scratch-II, an intermediate-level course that teaches students how to create higher level games by applying the STEM concepts learned in the previous module. The duration is nine weeks. Participants take Minecraft to learn to code, customize, and create usable items using a drag-and-drop environment for the Minecraft video game.
Duration is twelve weeks.
Sixth to eighth grade students take a beginner Roblox coding course to learn the basics of the Roblox Studio editor and use Lua programming to create Roblox games. They also learn how to use a text-based programming language called Python, and learn concepts and terminology that are common in Computer Science. They learn how to create graphical applications and games using Python modules, Turtle and Pygame. They take CAD I - Intro to 3D Modeling to get introduced to the world of 3D modeling with Tinkercad.
Ninth to twelfth grade students take Intro to Web Development. They learn how to code websites and learn how to use HTML and CSS codes to create their own websites. In Web-Development-II, Students learn Javascript codes to create their web-based and interactive games. In Web Development III, students learn HTML5 and Canvas web technologies and how to use Javascript code to create interactive online games.
