Conscience

Conscience is a Miami-based venture capital firm that is investing in early-stage consumer startups with technical founders at the pre-seed and seed stages. The firm focuses on companies with deep technology, data, and science backgrounds; this science focus could include patentable technology or some sort of intellectual property.

Conscience founder, Ariana Thacker, has a background in chemical engineering and prefers to invest in companies with a science focus and consumer-facing business model. Thacker's experience in chemical engineering came from UCLA and an early career in engineering roles at companies such as Abbott Labs, Phillips 66, and Aera Energy, before serving on the founding team of an energy storage company spun out of UCLA's mechanical engineering department. She also founded a platform to help advance women in engineering by connecting university students to mentors, job opportunities, and community events.

Previous to founding Conscience, Thacker worked at Rhapsody Venture Partners and Predictive VC.
