D. W. Griffith (David Llewelyn Wark Griffith), born on January 22, 1875, in La Grange, Kentucky, was an American film director, actor, film producer, screenwriter, executive producer, and founder of United Artists Corporation. He was a citizen of the United States and passed away on July 23, 1948, in Hollywood.
Griffith directed numerous notable works, including "The Birth of a Nation," "Intolerance," "Broken Blossoms," "Hearts of the World," and "Lillian Gish in a Liberty Loan Appeal". His body of work encompassed various genres, such as action, western, drama, comedy, adventure, feature, romantic, and romance films.
