Dali Wireless is a provider of wireless communications infrastructure intended to offer ways to handle exponential growth in mobile data traffic. The company's infrastructure offers digital wireless signal routing with in-building, outdoor coverage, and capacity by eliminating interference and maximizing spectrum usage. As well, Dali Wireless offers a reconfigurable platform intended to be technology and fronthaul interface agnostic to help with wireless infrastructure, and also a migration path to Virtual Radio Access Network (vRAN) for 5G technologies and Internet of Things (IoT) deployments.
Dali Wireless was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Menlo Park, California, with research and development facilities in Burnaby, British Columbia. Dali Wireless intends their solutions for the hospitality, healthcare, airport, residential and MDU, metros and trains, education, and stadium and related industries.
Dali Wireless offers in-building wireless solutions that are intended to offer a software-based architecture intended to be easy to install, with resources to help allocate the network dynamically and based on where and when users are on the network. As well, the company's network solutions are intended to support commercial cellular, public safety, and Wi-Fi systems with support for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G through software upgrades. And using a digital signal, the networks are built to avoid signal degradation and minimize noise while also work to meet the demands of users.
In response to the need for public safety personnel and first responder needs for reliable emergency responder radio coverage, Dali Wireless offers a digital distributed antenna system (DAS) as a solution. DAS is intended to provide secure, quality signal transport over a high availability system for current and future public safety requirements. The system is also designed to lengthen the reach of the digital signal and avoid signal degradation and minimize noise while offering a modular network architecture and software monitoring tools and controls.
In the case of rural network coverage, Dali Wireless offers a digital coverage solution through network sharing and infrastructure-as-a-service. This would use a mobile operator's capacity to be dynamically multi-casted over multiple rural sites and enable the network spectrum to be utilized. This can be done through Dali Wireless's radio access networks and virtual RAN, which can digitally process and route the signal to desired rural locations with software and deliver the system over longer distances.
Dali's digital Distrbuted Antenna System (DAS) is a part of the company's solutions, which utilizes the company's SDN Radio Router Technology to increase the capabilities of the DAS compared to traditional capabilities. This is intended to deliver more data throughput. In part, this is through the company's patented digital signal processing, which works to keep the RF noise floor unaffected by fiber length, offering greater coverage reach without signal degradation. And the network can be maintained and upgraded through a Graphical User Interface (GUI), intended to ease installation and reduce deployment time. Dali's system can be used to carry IP traffic from Wi-Fi access points or other IP devices such as webcams, electronic messaging boards, digital announcement systems, and surveillance cameras.
The Dali Matrix is a compact digital DAS platform offering wireless signal routing and coverage for cellular, public safety, and Wi-Fi in the transport infrastructure. The device has a modular two-tier architecture, which is intended to offer plug-and-play integrated headend units and low- and high- power remote radio units (RRUs). And the Dali Matrix is intended to support both C-RAN and D-RAN networks to help operators deliver capacity to hot spots in the network. Dali Wireless also offers an internal Matrix Element Management System, which is intended to help with network scaling using existing network infrastructure. The Dali Matrix can also be used in Public Safety networks. The products in the Dali Matrix family include:
- Universal Basestation Interface Tray (UBiT)
- Integrated Controller and Power Module
- RF Conditioner Module 37
- RF Conditioner Module 50
- Splitter-Combiner Module
- Quad-band Host Module
- Virtual Fronthaul Interface Module
- Digital Distribution Unit Module
With the remote radio units of the hd30 and hd43 and the Matrix Console additional systems to use in conjunction with the larger family of products.
Dali Wireless' t-Series devices are all digital wireless systems designed to deliver and manage data traffic both indoors and outdoors. The t-Series is software configurable to help mobile operators manage networks and is intended to deliver high capacity similar to a macro cell, but with a small footprint, coverage similar to a DAS, and without interference challenges. The company says the unit supports all frequency bands, is vendor agnostic, and is capable of operating in various environments, such as stadiums, arenas, campuses, airports, and tunnels. The components of the t-Series devices include:
- tHost Headend unit
- t30 Low power remote unit
- t43 High power dual-band remote
The Dali Matrix Virtual Fronthaul Interface (vFI) is a device intended to transform traditional two-tier fronthaul architecture employing a point-to-point connection to a three-tier multipoint-to-multipoint network driven by software. By adding additional tiers, the vFI can implement advanced radio signal routing, aggregation, and translation capabilities to the fronthaul network. This is intended to help enable shared infrastructure, dynamic capacity allocation, and an open RAN. The vFI can help support translation between different transport protocols, including ethernet, CPRI, OBSAI, ORI, eCPRI, RoE, and NGFI.
