Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Dante Gabriel Rossetti was born on May 12, 1828, in London. He held citizenship in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and was educated at King's College School. Rossetti's occupations included both poet and illustrator. He was a founder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, an artistic movement that sought a return to the abundant detail and complex compositions found in the art before the Italian Renaissance painter Raphael. Dante Gabriel Rossetti passed away on April 9, 1882, in Birchington-on-Sea.
