David J. Earp is the president and CEO of Circle Pharma, a company focusing on computational design and synthetic chemistry for developing specific cell-permeable macrocycle therapeutics against molecularly defined cancers. Over the span of his career, Earp has held various positions and roles across multiple companies.
From 1981-1984, Earp attended the University of Leeds, where he graduated with first-class honors and a Bachelor's in Science degree in microbiology.
At the University of Cambridge, Earp earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology between 1984 and 1988.
After graduating from the University of Cambridge in 1988, Earp went to U.C. Berkeley for a post-doctoral research fellowship, and he remained in the program from 1988 to 1991.
In 1992, Earp enrolled at the Lewis and Clark Law School, where he would graduate magna cum laude with his Juris doctorate in 1996.
Earp began his career in 1992 at Klarquist Sparkman, a law firm based in Portland, Oregon. He remained at this law firm through his law school tenure at Lewis and Clark, eventually becoming an associate and partner at the firm. He left the firm in 1999 to join Geron Corporation, where he served as the vice president of intellectual property from 1999 to 2004 and then as the senior vice president of business development from 2004 to 2011. His final role with the company was as the chief legal office and senior vice president of corporate transactions. He left the company in 2012. In 2013, Earp joined Circle Pharma as the president and CEO.
