DeepMap is developing high-definition (HD) mapping service for autonomous driving and isbacked by investors such as Accel, Andreessen Horowitz, and GSR Ventures. Its headquarters are in Palo Alto and it has offices in Beijing and Guangzhou, China as well. The company has partnered with Ford, Honda, SAIC Motor, Bosch, Daimler, and Einride to aid with researching the product in vehicles. It has also partnered with simulation and software companies to develop joint solutions for autonomous vehicles.
The company offers high-definition maps with centimeter-level real-time localization. DeepMap simulates with real-world data, not models. They provide 3D landmark features as well as a full 3D environment with true LiDAR intensity and RGB values data for simulation tools.The map services are available on the DeepMap Cloud Platform and updates on the maps are provided via Over The Air (OTA) software.To utilize the company's maps, customers can choose their own in-vehicle hardware for services such as localization, sensor calibration, data recording, and change detection.
