Diana Wynne Jones (16 August 1934 – 26 March 2011) was a novelist and writer from London, with English nationality. She was educated at St Anne's College, Oxford, Simmons College Center for the Study of Children's Literature, and Walden School (Saffron Walden). Jones held citizenship in the United Kingdom and passed away in Bristol.
Jones was most notably an author of fantasy novels, which include "The Time of the Ghost", "Archer's Goon", "Fire and Hemlock", "Deep Secret", and "The Ogre Downstairs".
