DigiTech is a brand by Harman, a Samsung company and a subsidiary of U.S. Music Corporation. Established in 1984 and headquartered in Utah, United States, the company specializes in multi-effects, guitar, and amp modeling equipment development and distribution. In 2018, Harman International made the decision to fully integrate DigiTech into the Harman professional organization, a move that did not include the retention of the brand’s team. The September before that, the company announced it would close some US manufacturing locations including its location in South Jordan, UT—where DigiTech/DOD was based. According to them, the manufacturing operations at that facility would be phased out by mid-2018.
